Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

If you love to try new creative experiences, enjoy taking a well-deserved rest and relish the thought of making new friends, then YES, this retreat is perfect for you!

 RETREAT FLOW:

  • Our first two days are all about soaking in your surroundings, visiting Bastide Town markets with me on Saturday and Sunday morning (optional if you’d prefer to chill and relax by the pool) - enjoying the typically French ambience of local restaurants. Then relaxing by the pool or strolling around the town and easing into our first watercolour workshop sessions of the weekend.

  • You’ll generally be participating in a 2-3 hour workshop each day. All of which are held at Namaste Cottage or a two-minute walk to the studios in the town- unless we have an out-of-town excursion planned.

  • Depending on whether you do a workshop in the morning or afternoon – you’ll have free time to enjoy the facilities at Namaste Cottage throughout the day or relax in the garden at Maison De La Paix

  • You’ll have a daily continental-style breakfast served at Namaste Cottage each morning.

  •  Lunches and dinners will mainly be served at Maison De La Paix, lovingly prepared by myself, Tess or YOU (unless we’re out for an event or restaurant dinner)

  • Most evenings will be free for you to relax in your own way after dinner.

What is included in my registration?

A private one- to-one 'Discovery Call' with me to ensure this retreat is just perfect for you. Your deposit secures your spot on the retreat and if you’re first to the post, you can choose your room and your preferred house location.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please visit our cancellation policy here for more information.

I need a roommate – how do I arrange that?

  • The rooms are allocated as single-occupancy, however, we’re happy for you to share your room with a friend, partner or a non-participating guest. The beds do not split into singles and we cannot add a guest bed to any rooms, so you need to consider this if sharing with someone. Shared occupancy places will be limited to keep the retreat intimate and exclusive.

  • If your roommate isn’t participating in the workshops, a discount of 25% will be applied to THEM ONLY. Additional charges will be applied, should they wish to participate in SOME directed activities but must be booked and paid for, in advance of the retreat commencement date.  We can chat about this during your registration call.

Can I bring my kids/partner?

Due to this being an adult-only retreat, I’m afraid the youngster can’t come along. Partners are welcome and may join in some of the workshops by prior arrangement and availability.

Where do I fly into?

Bergerac Airport is perfect as it’s only a 20 minute transfer to Issigeac. It’s a lovely small site, so it’s easy if you’re a lone traveller.

Is there transportation from the airport to the retreat venue?

We can arrange a private taxi for you or you can hire a car (I’d advise you book on-line, prior to the retreat) Bergerac airport is a small local site and easy to navigate collecting and dropping off hire cars.

Issigeac is a simple 20 minute drive from the airport along easy-to-navigate roads. You’ll be amazed how quickly you arrive.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

We sure can, I’ll send you a dietary registration form before the retreat. The only things we can’t cover would be ‘risk to life’ allergies.

Is it safe to travel to France?

The Dordogne is considered to be a perfectly safe area of Europe to visit and welcomes millions of over-seas visitors per year.

What is the weather like?

The Dordogne area of France is generally sunny and hot mid-summer. It can have occasional rainfall depending on the current weather trends across Europe.

Think of temperatures between 23 and 30 degrees C (Yes, it can vary that much!)

What do I pack?

All the usual items for a sunny breakaway. No need for any artistic frippery, it’s all provided. I’d strongly advise a good mosquito repellant (as with the rest of southern Europe) it’s best to be prepared. Hairdryers might be another good addition as some accommodations if France don’t provide these.
